Every vehicle deadline visible
Track MOT / annual-test, recall and tax records for vehicles and trailers. Approved data connections can refresh available provider records when enabled.
Licence checks scheduled by risk
Use a 12, 6 or 3-month cycle based on penalty points, with consent, results and supporting evidence kept together.
Reports your drivers actually sign
Tachograph infringement reports go to each driver for e-signature and come back signed, in their language.
Built by hauliers, for hauliers
Everything the Traffic Commissioner expects you to have under control
The undertakings on your licence are the same for a one-truck operator and a 200-vehicle fleet. We make them routine.
Vehicle & trailer compliance
MOT / annual-test expiry, tax renewal, recalls and test history for every vehicle and trailer, entered manually or refreshed from an approved data connection when enabled. Safety-inspection planner by ISO week with the DVSA 4-13-week intervals.
Driver licence & CPC
Licence status, entitlements, penalty points, photocard expiry, Driver CPC (DQC) and tachograph-card dates in one record, with the driver consent & DVLA mandate sent and stored for you.
Tachograph analysis & sign-off
Upload driver-card and vehicle-unit files. We read them, track the 28 / 90-day download rules, analyse drivers' hours and working time, and send each driver a report to sign.
Calendar & alerts
One calendar of everything dated - tests, tax, insurance, inspections, downloads, licence checks, CPC, cards, O-licence continuation - with email alerts at 30 / 14 / 7 days and when overdue.
Insurance is tracked against your fleet policy with renewal reminders and a one-click askMID check - MIB does not allow automated insurance look-ups, so we keep it honest.
Built by hauliers, for hauliers
One platform for the whole operation
Beyond the core record-keeping, OperatorCompliance covers the jobs a transport office does every week - so it is much harder for anything important to slip through the cracks. Building, securing and maintaining all of this yourself would almost certainly cost far more in time and money.
Multilingual driver app
Drivers complete walkaround checks, upload a renewed licence, see their licence status and penalty points from the latest licence check, and read and sign their tachograph reports - in English, Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian or Bulgarian.
Fuel cards, PINs & fuel use
A fuel card and PIN register with CSV import, plus fuel-use monitoring that helps flag possible theft.
Incident manager
Log an incident with photos and the full details, kept together and ready for your insurer and the claim.
Driver & trailer allocation
Record who drove which vehicle and which trailer was on it, so driver, vehicle and trailer stay tied together in the audit trail.
Forward maintenance planner
A wall planner of every safety inspection by ISO week, at your declared DVSA interval, with VOR handling.
Missing-mileage & no-card flags
Driving without a card and unaccounted mileage are surfaced straight from the vehicle-unit files.
Automatic tachograph analysis
Through Fleetalyse, driver-card and vehicle-unit files can be collected and analysed automatically, then each driver signs their own report.
Works with your TMS
A REST API and webhooks connect OperatorCompliance to TMS platforms such as Logivo.ai, so compliance shows up where your team already works - no separate login.
How it works
-
1
Add your fleet and drivers
Paste registrations and trailer IDs, add drivers and send them the consent form. Enter dates directly or import available vehicle details when an approved connection is enabled.
-
2
We monitor and analyse
Vehicle and driver deadlines are monitored, and uploaded tachograph files are read, matched and analysed automatically against the drivers' hours rules.
-
3
You get alerts and signed reports
Daily digest, critical alerts immediately, signed tachograph reports and a monthly compliance pack for the TC file.
Built strictly on the DVSA Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness
The April 2025 edition sets the standard the Traffic Commissioners and the Upper Tribunal apply. We built the product around it.
15-month records
Inspection and defect records retained and exportable for at least 15 months, tachograph data for 12.
ISO-week inspection planning
Safety inspections scheduled by ISO week at your declared VOL frequency - 4 to 13 weeks, 6 for assets 12 years and older.
28 / 90-day downloads
Driver cards at least every 28 days, vehicle units every 90, with reminders before they fall due.
Tachograph analysis
The full tachograph suite, built in
Not just a download log: analysis, sign-off, live remaining hours and the evidence trail, all from the same card and vehicle unit files.
Automatic analysis
Driver card and vehicle unit files checked against EU drivers' hours, working time and tachograph-use rules the moment they arrive.
Signed by the driver, countersigned by you
Bilingual infringement reports - English with Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian or Bulgarian - with e-signature and TM countersignature.
Remaining hours, live
A current status view per driver, a fleet-wide driver hours board and a shifts wall chart of the month.
The DVSA view of your fleet
An examiner-style infringement scorecard with indicative roadside penalty amounts, plus a DCRS-style conduct score per driver.
Nothing left unexplained
A tachograph cockpit of debriefs, download ages and missing mileage, with attestation letters to close record gaps.
Files in, data out
Secure remote upload by FTPS with auto-created profiles, report packs, wages and timesheet exports, and a developer API with webhooks (file upload on the Professional and Enterprise plans).

Guides for transport managers
Plain-English guides to licensing, roadworthiness, drivers and enforcement, written from the DVSA guidance.

How to apply for a goods vehicle operator's licence
You need a goods vehicle operator's licence to run vehicles over 3.5 tonnes for business. Choose a restricted, standard national or standard international licence, prove establishment, good repute, financial standing and professional competence, then apply through the VOL service.

Transport manager responsibilities under an O-licence
On a standard licence the transport manager must continuously and effectively manage the operation - maintenance, drivers' hours, defect reporting, records and systems - and can lose their repute and CPC. The role carries real personal accountability, not just a name on the licence.

Preparing for a DVSA maintenance investigation
A DVSA maintenance investigation checks whether you are keeping your licence promises: inspections on time, laden brake tests, defect reporting and 15 months of retrievable records. The usual failure is not that work was undone but that the operator cannot prove it was done.

Preparing for a public inquiry with the Traffic Commissioner
A public inquiry is a formal hearing where the Traffic Commissioner can revoke, suspend or curtail your licence and disqualify a director or transport manager. Prepare with an independent audit, fix what it finds before the day, and bring the evidence that you will comply in future.

Brake testing and roller brake tests explained
DVSA expects brake performance to be measured at every safety inspection, normally by a laden roller brake test on a calibrated machine. It checks efficiency, imbalance and binding, with broad HGV pass figures of 50% service, 25% secondary and 16% parking, and the printout kept as evidence.

Drivers' hours rules explained - EU/AETR, GB domestic and working time in one page
Three rule-sets apply to UK drivers. Under the assimilated EU rules the main limits are 9 hours daily driving (10 twice a week), 56 in a week, a 45-minute break after 4.5 hours and 11 hours daily rest. GB domestic rules and the Working Time Regulations cover other work on top.

All articlesQuestions operators ask us
Which vehicle records can I manage?
Record GB and NI vans, HGVs, buses and coaches, plus HGV trailers by DVSA trailer ID (for example C123456). Enter dates manually at any time. Where an approved data connection is active, available MOT / annual-test history, defects and recalls can be imported; tax status is shown only when an approved source supplies it.
Do you check insurance?
We track your fleet policy and renewal date, remind you, and give you a one-click link to the official askMID checker for spot checks. The Motor Insurers' Bureau does not permit automated look-ups, so we do not pretend otherwise.
How do licence checks work?
Your drivers sign our consent & mandate (it follows the DVLA fair-processing declaration). You then record checks using a GOV.UK check code or - once your DVLA Access to Driver Data agreement is in place - directly from DVLA. Re-check frequency follows penalty points: 12, 6 or 3 months.
What about tachograph analysis?
Upload .DDD files from driver cards and vehicle units, or have your download provider send them to your private FTPS folder. We read the files instantly, keep the 28/90-day download calendar, analyse infringements against the EU drivers' hours rules (also applied to AETR journeys) and the working time rules, and send each driver their report to sign electronically. Days worked under the GB domestic rules are checked against the EU limits too, so review any infringement on those days before the report goes to the driver.
Is my data safe?
UK-hosted, encrypted at rest, licence numbers encrypted in the database, role-based access, full audit log, and a data-processing agreement in our terms. The account owner can download a full export of your records and files (CSV spreadsheets plus the stored files, in one ZIP) at any time, and you can close your account from inside the app.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time from the billing page. Your workspace is then paused rather than erased, and the account owner can still download a full export of your records and files for 90 days.
Ready to stop chasing dates?
Set up in an afternoon. Keep your operator licence clean for good.
